Differences in yield of less than 4% and in ME of less than 0.3 should be treated with reserve
Varieties are selected for a minimum standing power, vigour and starch.

Root Lodging is to do with straw strength and brackling to do with late season disease in a delayed harvest. Message is do not delay harvest. Short varieties may be better able to withstand gales - but absolute first priority to select on the basis of root lodging. This list has done this for you.
